"Then Jesus said, “Come to me, all of you who are weary and carry heavy burdens, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you. Let me teach you, because I am humble and gentle at heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy to bear, and the burden I give you is light.” Matthew 11:28-30.

📚 Gillian Helfgott
Writer Gillian Helfgott made a home in Bellingen with pianist David Helfgott and supported the district's musical life. Her contribution included involvement with Camp Creative and the Bellingen Youth Orchestra. She had earlier helped David return to the concert stage, and the couple travelled internationally before their later life in the region. Bellingen was the setting for this later chapter of her life and community involvement. Tributes following her death in 2022 remembered both her writing and the encouragement she gave to creative activity close to home.
