Coffs Harbour Libraries – Families & Kids

Families can join free regular activities at the Coffs Harbour, Toormina and Woolgoolga branches. Baby Rhyme Time welcomes babies and toddlers aged 0–2, while Storytime is designed for ages 2–5. There are also Dress Up Fridays and term-time LEGO clubs for children in Years 3–5. Most sessions do not need bookings, but LEGO club places must be booked each week. Regular programs pause during NSW school holidays.

City of Coffs Harbour – School Holiday Programs

The City’s seasonal program is a useful starting point when planning a school-holiday week. It brings together activities at City pools, libraries, Yarrila Arts and Museum, the North Coast Regional Botanic Garden and other local venues. Each event has its own age range, cost and booking arrangements, so check the current program before promising the kids a place.

PCYC Coffs Harbour

Children can build movement skills through gymnastics, including parent-assisted KinderGym for ages 18 months to 3 years. PCYC also runs youth activities and school-holiday programs. Community OOSH Services

For families balancing school and work, Community OOSH provides before-school, after-school and vacation care for children aged 6–13. NSW National Parks – Junior Ranger: Dorrigo Rainforest Kids Nature Play

For a nearby school-holiday outing, children aged 5–12 can take part in ranger-led nature play at The Glade picnic area in Dorrigo National Park, around an hour from Coffs Harbour. Scheduled dates are published for 2026 and 2027. Fees apply, and families should check availability and book before travelling.

Faith Family Church – Kids Hub

Thursday mornings offer several options for young children and their grown-ups, including Mainly Music and Kids Hub playgroup for ages 0–5 with a parent or carer. Circle of Security is an eight-week parenting course, with babes in arms welcome. Mum’s Hub is intended for new mothers and includes faith-based content, which families may wish to consider when choosing a program.

Mid North Coast Local Health District – Child and Family Health Nursing Service

Parents and carers of children from birth to 5 years can access child and family health clinics in Coffs Harbour, Boambee East, Sawtell, Woolgoolga, Urunga and Dorrigo. Coffs Harbour appointments are available Monday to Friday, while the other clinics have specified appointment-only sessions. Childhood immunisation is available only at some locations, so ask about it when booking.

Tresillian Coffs Harbour Family Care Centre

Tresillian provides specialist early-parenting support for families with babies and children up to age 3. Consultations may take place at the Coffs Harbour centre, by video link or in homes within a 30-minute drive, with telephone follow-up available. A referral is required from a child and family health nurse, GP or another health or community provider.

Early Connections – Coffs Coast

Early Connections offers early childhood intervention through education, therapy and family support for children with disability or additional needs. The Coffs Harbour team currently supports children aged 0–7 through NDIS funding and uses a Key Worker model. Waitlists may apply, so families can contact the local team to discuss current access and suitable service options.

MyTime Coffs Harbour

MyTime gives mothers, fathers, grandparents and other carers an opportunity to meet people who understand the experience of caring for a child with disability, developmental delay or a chronic medical condition. The weekly Friday group is for carers of children aged 0–18 and is listed at Early Connections, 13 Kane Crescent, Coffs Harbour, at 12.30 pm. Enquiries go through Playgroup NSW to the group administrator.

🛠 Youth, family and practical support

Blue Sky Community Services – Youth and Family Service

Young people aged 10–24 and their families, parents or carers can access this free service for information, advice, referrals and individual youth support. It also offers parenting and family capacity-building activities, skills programs and social participation. Families can visit the Groundworks Youth and Family Hub in Coffs Harbour or use the referral form; some activities are also offered in Bellingen and Nambucca.

headspace Coffs Harbour

Young people aged 12–25 can seek free, confidential and time-limited support for mild to moderate mental health concerns. Young people, parents, carers and friends may contact the centre to request an appointment or make a referral. Anyone under 16 needs signed consent from a parent or guardian before attending. headspace Coffs Harbour is not a crisis service.

Coffs Harbour Neighbourhood Centre – Family Activities and Support

Families can ask about workshops, family-inclusive holiday activities, Homework Help, information and referrals. Practical assistance includes weekday fruit and vegetable support, while emergency grocery packs and other essentials may be available. Staff can discuss options with people experiencing financial distress; some assistance depends on assessed needs or eligibility.

Interrelate Coffs Harbour

Interrelate provides in-person counselling, mediation, children’s contact services, family mental health support, parenting and relationship courses, and specialised family violence support. Telephone or online delivery is available where applicable. Appointments should be requested, including for sessions after 5 pm.

Wesley Youth Accommodation – Mid North Coast

This regional service supports young people aged 12–25 who are experiencing homelessness or are at risk of it. Case management is available across the Coffs Harbour, Bellingen and Nambucca region. Its 24-hour emergency accommodation is for young people aged 14–17 who do not have somewhere safe to stay, while transitional housing for ages 17–24 may be available for up to 12 months.
