Who needs to test and tag?
Businesses operating in NSW are obligated to test and tag all electrical equipment used in the workplace.
Electrical test and tagging is a preventative safety measure to reduce the risk of electrical hazards in a workplace.
This includes having an electrical maintenance program that identifies electrical hazards, conducts appropriate risk
assessments and controls these risks. The AS/NZ3760 Australian Standard outlines that regular testing and tagging of portable electrical appliances is optimal for creating a safe workplace. Testing is required to be completed every 3, 6, 12 months or 5 years as a minimum, depending on the environment.
